Pongal shopping!

Since many godparents sent money for their children, we extended shopping into Pongal holidays. Pongal is festival of thanking, which celebrates the crop in South India at the end of the harvest. This is one of the most important festivals celebrated by Tamils in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and Srilanka. On this holiday, which has a greater impact than even the New Year, the children have four days off.

We drove to the clothes store. As usual, we parked the car a little farther from the store and went on foot across the railroad tracks. The road is closed for more than a year. They intend to build a bridge over the tracks, but so far, except a hole dug in the road, anything has not been done. Later we drove to another store with shoes, school supplies, and of course ice cream.
Godparents Milojka Šerbec Turk, who has protegee Bhuvaneshwari, Marija Plej, who has protegee Arthy, Lidija and Igor Fischer, who have protegees Kowsalya and Swetha and godparent Tjaša Simonka Kavaš and Miha Kavaš, who have protegee Gokilavani sent money for their children, to choose whatever they want. Most of them bought a new dress and shoes for the first time. Kowsalya and Swetha were of big help, who are now accustomed to buying. We laughed a lot and had fun.
Kowsalya and Swetha have chosen a very nice, a little better cotton, which will take to the tailor who will sew them a cudidha (clothing worn here).
Arthi and Gokilavani choose a beautiful dress and sandals.
A very special dress, a few other clothes, school bag, and even two pairs of slides were chosen by Bhuvaneshwari. The little girl came in completely destroyed and too small flip flops, which she got from a younger girls.
Everyone was saying how good mothers they have and how nice they take care of them, and how they wished they were with them so they could give them a big hug and tell them how much the love them. That day was like a fairy tale for them, and it will never be forgotten. The send you kisses and want me to tell you that they are very grateful. Me too would like to thank you with all my heart, that you make ma able to make these children happy. All of you can be an example to us. People like you are the true value of life. Your work is worthy of all admiration.
I wish that other kids get godparents too and would no longer be hungry. It is beautiful to see happy kids, who do not need to worry about whether they will have the next meal and how will they live so I ask you dear friends of good heart, I invite you to become godparents. Let's help as many children to a better tomorrow without hunger and with the possibility of going to school. The names of children who need help are published on the website: and on Facebook Društvo botrov otrok TWIMC.
